Think Smart
Think Smart

It’s the beginning of a great new week and am excited at the many possibilities that this week holds for me and you. Am also excited at the interesting things we would be learning here on SuccessJourney this week.

I believe you are familiar with the term “Smart”, it describes someone who is capable of independent and apparently intelligent action. This week we would be learning some habits of smart folks. Sit tight and let us begin our journey.

1. Persistence

“The doubters said “man cannot fly”, the doers said “maybe, but we’ll try”, and finally soared in the morning glow while non-believers watched from below” ~ Bruce Lee.

The ability to keep going or stay on when there are a thousand and one reasons to give up would certainly get you to your goal and that is when people would believe that you are smart, but when you throw in the towel half way down the road, nobody would get to hear your story. Persistence is the act of never-ceasing, never letting go, not accepting defeat or failure, believing beyond reasonable doubts that something is possible.

Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old but that did not stop him from achieving great things, today we still refer to him as smart.

Bill Gates first business failed but because he never gave up on his dreams, we have a wonderful company, Microsoft, still leading today in the technology world even after Gates has retired.

Thomas Edison had failed attempts in about 1000+ light bulbs and because he kept searching and trying, he finally got it. He lives on in our memory as a smart man.

Benjamin Franklin one of the Legends I admire so much was a school dropout at 10 but because he persisted, he became “the First American” as quoted by Wikipedia. He was an author, printer, political theorist, politician, scientist, inventor, statesman, and diplomat…all these for a man that was a school dropout at 10.

I am very much convinced that the world one day would hear your name and say “and that is one smart folk” if only you do not let go of your dreams.  For by persistence, the snail reached the ark.

Have a productive week ahead.

I honour you.
