Nigeria…Our Pride, Our Home, One Great Land In Diversity!

Every nation has its story, but the Nigerian story is one of the best stories to hear. It is a nation of so many cultures and believes yet it stands tall in the commonwealth of nations.

I have always had the believe that Nigeria is blessed beyond any other nation in the universe. I am not certain that there is any other nation so rich in natural resources, agriculture, rivers, lands, culture, and yet so diversified and blessed with a better climate than Nigeria. It’s soils are unique and fertile that from the north to the south, the east to the west, different array of food and commercial crops thrive very well without manures or fertilizers, it’s geography so blessed that natural disasters are very rare, it boasts of a great store of natural resources with crude oil popularly (black gold) as the largest, it’s forest are rich with a thousand and one species of wildlife, it has what it takes to generate electricity for itself and even sell to other nations, these and many more you will find in one place…is there any other land that can beat this? Hmmm…If I was given the opportunity to be reborn a million times with the choice of choosing a country to belong, I would always want to remain a Nigerian.

What about its people? Nigerians are creative, hard working, resourceful, healthy, patriotic, friendly and happy people in spite of the challenges we face. Wherever we find ourselves, we lead the way.

Then you would ask, why are we still here? Why are we not where we ought to be? Why are there still hardship and poverty and unstable economy? Why do we fight ourselves? Why do we still seek support to meet certain national needs especially in healthcare when our healthcare professionals lead in different countries across the globe?

There is only one answer for it all…Leadership. We as a nation have not gotten our leadership system right. We are yet to imbibe the true spirit of statesmanship. Just like the second stanza of our national anthem “…direct our leaders right, help our youth the truth to know, in love and honesty to grow…”, this should be our prayer for this great nation everyday for in that lies our solution.

It is not just about the people at the helm of affairs, it is about everyone of us because our small contributions everyday either makes or mar the general output. Our family values and systems needs to be put right for this is the smallest unit of the nation. Our dealings with each other and the rest of the world needs to be honourable, our morals needs to be commendable for when we put our hands together and do this, our nation shall be the greatest of all lands.

Finally, we need to reawaken our faith in this nation if we had lost it at anytime. nigeria_flag

We would make it through the rain if we all believe in the Nigeria project.

Happy Independence to all Nigerians, 54 and still counting…we will get there.

God Bless Nigeria!

Life Is A Gift!

21/09/2014 ~ SuccessJourney Daily Post with Nicholas Akomire ©2014
One of the things I have come to realize is that life does not always follow the path we had expected, there are series of turns and curves down the road and that is why we must strive to understand life the way God does for He created everything. Take this advice:
Today before you think of saying an unkind word – think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food –
think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife –
think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life –
think of someone who went too early to heaven or hell.
Before you complain about your children –
think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep –
think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive –
think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
Before you complain about having to use public transport, think of those who are not free to move as you do.
And when you are tired and complain about your job –
think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another –
remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down –
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.
Life is a gift – Appreciate God for It, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfil it.
God is the only one who’s worthy of everything we can give.
Happy Sunday.

We Are Back!

16/09/2014 ~ SuccessJourney Daily Post with Nicholas Akomire ©2014
Hello there! How are you doing? Did you say it’s been a while? Are you kidding me? It’s been ages and SuccessJourney Daily post has been on break. Hmm… I am quite sure you missed the Daily Posts. Believe me, Daily Post missed you too.
It was quite interesting to get feedbacks from so many readers trying to find out why the break and if I was doing fine. Am honoured to have such a wonderful  person as you who would so much as care about my well being. Thanks a Zillion.
The break started with me going for a camp meeting which on its own was such a wonderful experience that for so many months and years to come, I will still be reaping the benefits of it. God be praised. And yes, I prayed for you. At the end of camp while preparing to resume daily post, my phone packed up. The little piece of device wont just come up…anyways that is history. The good news is that we are back.
During the period of the break, I had the time to reflect on so many things, had interactions with different folks on different issues, took time to study some trends, got feedbacks from speaking, listened to different articles and stories and read quite a bit on different subjects.  All of these and many more we would learn from and review as we progress on SuccessJourney Daily Posts.
It’s good to be back and it’s quite great to have you here with me. Thanks once again.
Always remember: success is a journey…and it’s great to have people who would always support you down the road.
Have a wonderful day.

An unknown poet wrote:

‘When things go wrong as they sometimes will, and the road you’re trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high, and you want to smile but you have to sigh.

When things are pressing you down a bit, rest if you must, but don’t you quit! Life is strange with its twists and turns, as every one of us sometimes learns. And many a failure turns about, when he might have won if he’d stuck it out.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow-you might succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than it seems, to a faint and faltering man.

Often the struggler has given up, when he might have captured the victor’s cup. And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, how close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out-the silver tint of the clouds of doubt.

You never can tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems afar.

So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit- it’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.’

For by persistence the snail reached the ark!

Have a lovely Tuesday.

I honour you.
