4. Start At The End And Aim High!

Start At The EndWhenever you fantasize about your dreams, the picture that always comes to your mind is the peak of that dream. This is so because it is where you want to be, but you know very well that you can only get there after so many things have been put in place and after series and series of hard work in the direction of that dream. How about starting at that peak and working your way backwards creating all the necessary elements as you go by. Start with where you want to end up, that is your goal. Not possible? Let me give you an instance:

Before architects begin building a house, they know what the completed version will look like. They have a blueprint and they know that each step is necessary to get to the next one; the excavation           must be complete before the framing begins etc.

To help you get this right, ask yourself these questions before you kick start the dream: What is my purpose? what are the needs of the persons that would be the end users of what am creating? What do they already have? What method should I use or which steps do I take?

When you can answer these questions correctly, you’d have gotten a good idea of the possible end of the journey. Decide whether you want to be the best, the fastest, the cheapest, the biggest – WHATEVER. Aim for the ultimate and work backwards to develop the steps you need to achieve it.

Have a great Thursday!

3.2. Avoid The Crowds – Do Not Follow The Herd!

Avoid The Crowd
Avoid The Crowd

Every single day that passes gives everyone of us an opportunity to prove to the people around us how great we are or could be, this is not by telling but by showing them with our outputs and products and successes. These are the things that measure our true value. Creating unique things does not necessarily mean new inventions, it’s one of the many ways, but it’s about offering products or services in a whole new way that makes it unique.
Depending on your industry or career, you can offer the same product or service as everyone else but you make yours stand out by how you offer it. Sometimes the uniqueness could be in the environment in which you offer it, your customer service approach, your method of delivery, your post sale service, the quality you put into the product etc. These are just but a few ways to make your dream stand out.
When interviewed, this is how Jana Francis, Founder of an Online Baby Care Shop, BabySteals.com described the uniqueness of her brand:
“My vision was to start a business that provided a wonderful buying experience coupled with high quality merchandise at a significant discount,” she said. “I want my site to also be entertaining. I want women to enjoy shopping with me.”
For Jana, the customer experience is the most important aspect of her business. She wants her customers to be overjoyed not just with the product but with the online community of shared experiences, the descriptions and photography of the product, the packaging and even a personal connection with herself and the employees. As a result, her customers genuinely care about the company’s success and become evangelists of the site.
Do you believe you can stand out? Then get busy and show the world how great you are with your output. Have faith in yourself for Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.

Have a lovely Wednesday.!

I honour you.

The 5 Winning Habits of Smart People – 1. Persistence

22/09/2014 ~ SuccessJourney Daily Post with Nicholas Akomire ©2014

Think Smart
Think Smart

It’s the beginning of a great new week and am excited at the many possibilities that this week holds for me and you. Am also excited at the interesting things we would be learning here on SuccessJourney this week.

I believe you are familiar with the term “Smart”, it describes someone who is capable of independent and apparently intelligent action. This week we would be learning some habits of smart folks. Sit tight and let us begin our journey.

1. Persistence

“The doubters said “man cannot fly”, the doers said “maybe, but we’ll try”, and finally soared in the morning glow while non-believers watched from below” ~ Bruce Lee.

The ability to keep going or stay on when there are a thousand and one reasons to give up would certainly get you to your goal and that is when people would believe that you are smart, but when you throw in the towel half way down the road, nobody would get to hear your story. Persistence is the act of never-ceasing, never letting go, not accepting defeat or failure, believing beyond reasonable doubts that something is possible.

Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four years old but that did not stop him from achieving great things, today we still refer to him as smart.

Bill Gates first business failed but because he never gave up on his dreams, we have a wonderful company, Microsoft, still leading today in the technology world even after Gates has retired.

Thomas Edison had failed attempts in about 1000+ light bulbs and because he kept searching and trying, he finally got it. He lives on in our memory as a smart man.

Benjamin Franklin one of the Legends I admire so much was a school dropout at 10 but because he persisted, he became “the First American” as quoted by Wikipedia. He was an author, printer, political theorist, politician, scientist, inventor, statesman, and diplomat…all these for a man that was a school dropout at 10.

I am very much convinced that the world one day would hear your name and say “and that is one smart folk” if only you do not let go of your dreams.  For by persistence, the snail reached the ark.

Have a productive week ahead.

I honour you.

Hello Dear!!! How are you doing? It’s been wonderful as we went through this series. The feedbacks have been interesting. If you missed any part or wish to go over any one of this series and other articles, you can always find them at www.nic4bags.wordpress.com. I appreciate you for taking out time to read, apply and modify where necessary in the pursuit of your goal. Just so you do not forget it all in a hurry here is a recap of “Ways to Achieve Your Goals Faster and Have Fun While At It”:

  1. Spend time around positive people
  2. Have great goals to work towards
  3. Dress Up, Look after yourself
  4. Give gratitude
  5. Recognize your thoughts and change them
  6. Be a giver
  7. Visualize Your Dreams
  8. Believe in Yourself
  9. Relax
  10. Have More Fun

Recognizing where you have not done well in any of these and seeking to get better at it would get you closer to your goals.

I want you to always remember that success is not a destination, it is a never ending journey filled with achievements, fun, people, challenges, disappointments, friendship, joy and self-realization. When people are celebrating and congratulating you for achieving a certain level of success, that is the time you need to start working towards the next level.

Always seek to be better than the man you were yesterday.

Wishing you a fantastic week ahead.

I value you.
