NB: Read to the end, a gift awaits.

Have you ever wondered why every event, religious or social gatherings incorporates one form of music or the other depending on the purpose of gathering? Why is it that we can’t go a complete day without having to listen to or rhyme a song? Even in bad times, music comes to play.

More so, in communicating with the spiritual world, music is fully incorporated either in the church, the mosque and even the traditional believers cannot do without music in their gatherings. So what is it that makes music so unique?

The WordWeb dictionary defines music as an artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner.

Though am not a professional when in comes to music but I decided to write this post so that we can better appreciate music and for the big guys in the industry and up and coming singers to write better songs that add value to people.

The main question is, what roles does music play in your life? Some would say it helps me calm down when am angry or sad, others would say it helps me communicate with my maker, and a good number of folks would tell you that music is their best friend.

In a quest to bring music more closer to human, some wonderful folks, designed the ear phones…God bless them.

The benefits of music are enormous. Some years back I learnt yet another power of music from a friend – it’s ability to heal. If you ever happen to have a headache, play light music while you lay your head down, the headache would resolve after a while.

If you need to pray and you can’t seem to find the right words to express your thoughts, play or sing the right song.

If you need to encourage yourself or a friend, or you need a reason to hope or believe, play or sing the right song.

When you need to motivate your team or group to pursue a course or dream, play or sing the right songs.

If you need to show appreciation to your maker or someone, play or sing the right song, they would understand.

Even when you need to correct some wrongs in the society or talk to the government, music is at your disposal.

And when expressing the greatest commandment of all, Love, music is your best bet. That is why my friend David Agbroko (@KingDavidaa) would say, Jesus is a Love Song.

In one sentence I would sum it all up with this quote:

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul and gives hope to a dying world”.

To help you better appreciate who you are as a wonderful creation of an awesome God, here is a piece by my friend Victoria Enyi Francis (@IamQueenVikcy) tagged Beautiful, click on this link  to download, listen and share.  You can thank me later.

Have a wonderful Sunday celebration and do not forget to “let the music play…”

I honour you!
